Gryphon responded quickly to a request for a quote. All calls to their office were handled professionally in a timely manner. My request for information, changes to the contract, locations of homes with specific shingle colors, etc. were answered very quickly and with a smile. An issue after the job regarding taping and sealing the A/C unit were handled to my satisfaction.

Appointment for Mark was for him to view damage and estimate repair. Repair was scheduled a week later. Repair crew arrived later than I expected, but they did good work and cleaned up after finished. They were conscientious and identified several additional tiles that needed replacement/repair that had been observed previously.

Called the company to get information and set up a date/time to get someone to look at the leak. Mark our Sales Representative came over and he knew exactly what the problem was. Gave us a quote and details of the job. We set the date to get the job done. They were pleasant and very professional. Work was done in a day and they did a great job cleaning up. Will use this company again. Thank You.

Description Of Work:
Installed completely new roof under existing tile on a 1600-square-foot house. Work included removing and setting aside all tile, taking up and discarding all old underlayment, battens, and flashings, installing two layers of new 40# underlayment with 18-inch overlaps (secured with simplex nails), installing new battens, new flashings, and new mortar packs, and relaying the tiles over the new roof. Additional work included adjusting fascia and replacing a cracked skylight.
Member Comments:
The work crew was punctual, worked longer than eight hours each day, and finished the job within the time promised. A few follow-up adjustments were requested and performed without challenge, and promptly. The job was messy, and for the most part the crew cleaned up adequately, although they left my front door blocked one day with debris from the old roof. The biggest challenge was communicating not with the crew, but with the supervisor Gryphon assigned to the job. He did not return phone calls and I always had to pester the main office for a response. Once contact was made, however, my concerns were always promptly dealt with. The new roof has now been through a wetter-than-average Arizona monsoon, no leaks!

Description Of Work:
Gryphon re-built most of the tile roof and a section of flat roof on my house. Additionally, they replaced 4 skylights including two large, custom-sized skylights. Clay tiles were replaced as necessary, plywood and fascia board were replaced as required. A new shingle pad around the air conditioners was also installed.
Member Comments:
Overall, this roof replacement went very well. Gryphon's estimator and bid provider was very helpful and well informed which built confidence in the company's ability to perform the job well. Crews arrived on time, I was informed of changes and schedule updates in advance, and the crews worked effectively and efficiently. Two large custom skylights arrived at Gryphon with the wrong dimensions, but they re-ordered the skylights and were able to install them in a timely manner. Crews performed very well in terms of expertise in both the tile portion of the roof and the smaller flat, foam roof portion. Trash was cleaned up and hauled away daily. The shingle pad was installed around two small skylights with multiple layers of underlay and asphalt tiles and sealed with ample caulking to ensure no leaks. So far, under light showers, the roof has not leaked.

Description Of Work:
Estimate for possible roof leak. Interior ceiling showed signs of leaking. We were having our popcorn ceilings removed and noticed some discoloration on the ceiling so decided to check it out to see if there was a leak. The estimator who came out told us it was just old paint showing through (what we originally suspected). We appreciated his honesty since another contractor told us there was some flashing that needed replacing.
Member Comments:
We also have a leak in the garage which we decided we can repair ourselves, although the estimator offered what seems to be a fair estimate of around $300 to repair the damage to the garage ceiling and roof.

Description Of Work:
Repair roof leak at chimney. Install new SBS modified underlayment. Re-set loose tile, replace broken tiles.
Member Comments:
Very well. Mark, the estimator, arrived 10 minutes early for the estimate on 3/2/07. He inspected the roof and prepared the written estimate in 20 minutes. I approved the work order and they called four days later to schedule the work. The job was scheduled for 3/19/07 and we did not have to be present as there was no interior work required. Upon returning home, we could not tell they had even been there except for the repair work on the roof and the flyer on the door that they had completed the work as contracted. The clean up was immaculate. On 3/20/07, they returned for a full and final inspection and left another flyer so indicating that. The work came with a two year warranty for labor and materials. They billed us through the mail at the agreed price which we paid. It rained about a week later and we saw no problems where the leak used to be. All in all, it was very painless.

Description of Work: Complete removal and replacement of asphalt shingle roof. Several areas of rotten wood was also replaced.
Member Comments: Excellent job. The quotation process was prompt. They were on time and very professional. On a day when there was chance of rain, they tarped an unfinished area even though it just over an outdoor porch, and the chance of rain was slight. The work was very professional. The only slight problem was it took them over a month to generate a bill. Most people would probably not mind this.
